SERVE projects started in the summer of 2021 when a number of area mission trips to lands faraway had to be put on pause due to COVID. It was an attempt to minister to members of the Chamily and the greater Churchtown area and it has become a triennial event at CCOG. Each spring, summer, and fall (typically April, July, and October), a team of volunteers is assembled to show the love of Christ in practical ways.
Some of the many services we have offered include: weeding, installing a firepit, renovating the Churchtown Church of God cemetery, repairing drywall, painting, picking up trash in Churchtown, trimming, moving furniture, teaching senior citizens how to use technology, and the list goes on and on. It is always amazing to watch how God perfectly matches the needs of others with the skillset we offer to Him. We can always use volunteers of all ability levels and our theme verse is Galatians 6:10: “Therefore, whenever we have the opportunity, we should do good to everyone—especially to those in the family of faith. (NLT)”
