The Bible says “It all began in a Garden.” – And… The idea for Kids for Our King also began in a garden – As a matter of fact, it was our backyard garden with a wee caterpillar. God placed this thought in my mind – Hey, you can do a rebirth lesson for the children in our church. . . And we did. . . That was our very first lesson, our first class.
In June we will be coming full circle with the garden theme as our class will be planting a small flower and herb garden on the church grounds; and this, our 9th lesson, will be about the parable of the sower.
I know it’s been exciting for all of us to see not just one, but all the children’s programs blossom. The Kids’ Corner with all its learning materials is greatly utilized each Sunday and is a wonderful tool for them to learn about God’s love.
Concerning the form at the back of each pew entitled “How a church Welcomes Families Matters,” these words convey what we’re all about in regards to family and what is available for the children. What a wonderful way to let new folks know what we’re all about.
As for Kids for Our King, I am pleased to report that our team of four, which includes Tracy, Wanda and Morgan, is trying to teach God’s Word –
Accurately – Faithfully – Prayerfully – and Meaningfully. . .
And our children’s class steadily grows in number. They are eager and happy to learn as each lesson is centered around God’s love for them.
Our Bible lessons are always confirmed by a few Bible verses, and God’s truth is layered with a craft or activity that is tied to the lesson and shows them that God can be their lifelong friend. . . their Savior.
We’ve tried to be very transparent in all that we do. Our Bulletin Board in the hallway always conveys our upcoming class and subject of the lesson, as well as postings of previous crafts and activities.
In closing, it’s most important for me to say thank you. . . for all the support that our church family has blessed us with for the children in our church.
Because —
They walk in the shadow of our influence.
